Great coffee, all day breakfast and burgers - Just at the end of the street. We love ordering takeaway and walking across to the beach.

Yellowtail never disappoints! Tucked away in Terrigal, great for an intimate dinner or lunch. Dishes are a beautiful combination of high-quality produce, flavour and texture. Let's not forget the perfectly paired wines. Be sure to book in advance, particularly for dinner.

A short drive from the apartment, Darrons is a favourite for fish and chips and is definitely the best local fish monger.

Also at the end of Bundara, Rajdjani is another local favourite. They used to be a little further down the road but recently moved here. My 8 & 10 year old are loyal fans of their butter chicken and always my first choice!

Sightseeing

When you are on Wamberal Beach head left past the lagoon, at the end of the beach is Spoon Bay, roughly a 15 min walk. Loads of rockpools to explore at low tide and a rocky platform you can climb to get a great view back towards Wamberal/Terrigal. You need to be carful swimming here though, the small bay looks calm but can have an extremely strong current and there are no lifeguards. It's a beautiful spot but need to be cautious, particularly if kids are with you.

The walking track to Maitland Bay is a 15-20 minute drive, then a 15-20 minute walk to the Bay, which is absolutely stunning. If you are there mid-week you could have the entire beach to yourself. The walk is on a well kept track, with steps in some places that winds through the Bouddi National Park, so no fur-friends allowed. Wear walking shoes and pack plenty of water, the walk does get the heart pumping, particularly on the way back up. The beach is stunning and a great spot for swimming, snorkelling or lazing around. We usually pack a picnic and spend most of the day there, and you can generally get a spot in the shade at the base of the rock faces that surround the bay

The best point of a 6km exercise loop from the apartment. Head to the right along Lakeview Rd, right on Ocean View Rd and follow the walk track into Terrigal. At the end of the esplanade you have the choice of the board walk or hill that both take you to The Haven. You will see The Skillion when you get there.

Where you will find The Skillion, Terrigal Haven is a short drive or 20 minute walk from the apartment. The Haven is a great swimming spot for young families as it's well protected and calm. There are public BBQs, cafes, the rugby club bistro, fish & chips and plenty of space for picnics. There's also the oval as the centrepiece, perfect to kick a ball around or play some cricket. It's also home to the local dog park, boat ramp and onshore scuba diving.

If you want to head out in a fishing trip, go with Lee. He has a few different trips to choose from and it's always a great day out on the water. Another one to book well in advance!
