A little farther south about 2 hours one way from Anchorage. Seward is a gem. This is the town that all Alaskans escape to when they need to get out of the city. It’s a small town with mountains on one side and water on the other. Full of things to do like hiking, charter fishing, or even going to the sea life center. Not to mention the food in this town is all local caught Alaskan fish. You can even take a train from anchorage to Seward round trip for a whole day of sightseeing beauty.

If your into hiking this is a great spot in south side Anchorage. Only 3 miles up and you can see the entire city. It’s a medium level hike with a small chunk of east rock climbing at the end. I’ve seen children and even animals make it up here no problem.
