Food scene
Casa Lina is near many locally owned restaurants, breweries, distilleries and ethnic food markets, as well as four grocery stores (three natural food). In general, you will find many inexpensive Mexican, Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai restaurants to the west, and more trendy, upscale brew pubs and eateries to the east on Broadway Street and Santa Fe Drive.
This place has awesome fresh Mexican food. They DO NOT take reservations, though, so if you go around dinner time, you may have to wait.

One of my favorite parts of town to just hang out, people watch, grab a bite and a glass of wine. They also have shuffle board. An old train station (Union Station) redone, surrounded by imaginative architecture and different types of restaurants.

One of the great things about this location is that to the west you have the authentic, grittier and less expensive ethnic restaurants. All up and down you will find Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and Mexican restaurants. They aren't fancy, but they are REAL.

Parks
This park has saved my sanity more than once. Lots of dog walkers, red-winged black birds, geese, and views of much of the front range. Fun place to hang out or, if you have your paddle or tennis racket along, the courts are amazing.

Transportation
Denver has a great light rail system, especially if you want to go downtown without having to deal with the insane parking. You can download the RTD app and buy tickets on the train. If you want to take the bus to the light rail, just walk south on Raritan to Mississippi. Buses run every 30 minutes. Light rail typically every 15.
