The Florida aquifer pumps out millions of gallons of crystal clear, constantly 72°, beautiful spring water for us to enjoy. Whether you rent a pontoon or an inner tube, you're going to have an amazing experience.
** Local tip-A hybrid stand up/kayak vessel is my favorite way to float the river. When launching at KP Hole park, GO UPSTREAM! Most people head down and they miss out on the beautiful headsprings! it's an easy paddle and will add about an hour to your trip (30 up and 30 back to the launch point *not the exit*).
Even if you're not the kayaking type, Rainbow spring state park is worth the drive. They have a designated swimming area in the park and a small nature trail. (they also rent kayaks if you change your mind... and you should)

The park does reach capacity very early on weekends so a weekday trip is better if possible.
If you must go on a weekend, plan to get there super early. Call a couple days prior for advice on a suggested arrival time.
