Boulder is a perfect balance of urban and outdoors. Known for its stellar food scene, breweries, an always-exciting downtown and more outdoor activities than you can count, the city is just 30 minutes northwest of Denver, where the Rocky Mountains meet the plains.

Nederland sits in a valley created by a glacier thousands of years ago.
In the 1960's the "hippies" brought a vibrant music scene and a new lifestyle to the sleepy valley. By the 1990's, Nederland's population had grown quite a bit. At this time, Barker Meadow was developed into the town's only shopping center and plans were underway to spruce up downtown to attract more tourist and encourage local residents to spend their dollars in town, instead of "down the hill" in Boulder.
At the turn of the 21st century, the town's population growth began leveling out. One thing is certain: Nederland is a town like no other, and always will be. It's truly a hippie mecca that's something to see including the "frozen dead guy", the carousel of happiness, funky bars, and the best pizza in CO at Crosscut.

Royal arch is our favorite trail. It's medium in terms of challenging and takes about 2.5 hours to summit.

The pool is affordable, heated, and has slides, diving boards, a lazy river, over-water rock climbing wall, kids area, lap pool, and you can bring food and picnic in a well-shaded area. Bring a picnic blanket, there's not much seating.

Avoid sitting in the traffic on i70 for hours and take the bus 45 minutes to Nederland to ski this smaller, local mountain. It has great terrain, jump parks, and is only small compared to CO's enormous resorts.
