Hay -on- Wye is on the borders between England and Wales and is about an hour's drive from Hereford. It is worth the drive! (Easy to get there by bus too) Famous for its bookshops, it hosts a fabulous festival there at the end of May.

It has a significant number of timber-framed structures, in particular along Church Lane and High Street. One of the most outstanding is Ledbury Market Hall, built in 1617, located in the town centre.

Centrally located in the city, the historic Butter Market is a hidden gem of Hereford. A thriving indoor market with a great choice of individual stalls. For example it has a Thai cafe, a burrito bar, a vinyl stall and lots of other stuff.
