Great variety of produce, crafts, prepared food, some good music, etc, etc. Yum. The outdoor market is in a beautiful location, great for kids (large sandbox,a stream, etc) amongst trees. Indoor Market begins this year at former Austine School in Brattleboro - off Maple Street. Every Saturday also.

I am also biased as I managed it for 12 years, but there is a great selection of clothing, housewares, furniture, books, kids stuff, at very reasonable prices. You never know what you will find! Note: They recently changed their location and are a past the parking garage on opposite side of Flat Street (called the Church Lot named after a Mr. Church. Is not a church!)

Parks and Nature
If you want to take a longish hike, you have a wonderful view of Brattleboro from the top of this mountain. To access the mountain trail, cross over the bridge that goes to Hinsdale NH, and go left when you get across. You'll see a parking area on your right and can hike from there. About 2 or so hours up to the top. An alternate walk is the River Trail. Park in the same spot and go straight along the river rather than up. This latter is a popular dog walking trail.

Just walk up the hill, and cross western ave, and walk up the Solar Hill driveway until you see a trailhead on your right. PLEASE NOTE: The airbnb site keeps changing my entry from "Retreat Trails" to "Retreat Farm". there is a Retreat Farm on Linden Street but the trails I am referring to can be accessed from Solar Hill off Western Ave. We have Retreat Trail Maps - 2 kinds - on the bureau in our Airbnb.
