If you want the best eel role in Alaska, I highly recommend Yamaya. He is a single man shop, so go early. He closes at 9 PM, but definitely arrive a few hours before he closes for you might be turned away. Amazing food. His shop reminds me of the show Midnight Diner!

This area is chalk full of anglers in the summer. The overview area is walking distance from the train station downtown and is the head of the ship creek trail. The ship creek trail parallels ship creek and is one of the more green trails.

This quaint town is nestled in the bossom of amazing mountains and the ocean. You'll love the drive from Thompson pass through Keystone Canyon to Valdez. There is a secret hike from the road to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline terminal to the dam. If it's the summer definitely explore it! Turquoise water and several drops. Not for the faint of heart!
