Devil's Creek (as it is known to the locals) provides an area to hike, walk, fish for trout, explore. Very beautiful.

Only about a 40 minute drive, but well worth it. Drive to the top of the mountain and hike down to see the huge boulder that threatens to roll down onto the city of Pineville.

Ride the train from Stearns KY or drive to the Blue Heron. Hike, picnic, and enjoy the scenery. A lot to see and the train ride is really beautiful. Bring your lunch.

Tried this on my own and it was great. Check ahead for special deals that they may be offering. Great day trip. Levi Jackson park also has pool, play grounds, bike trails, and an old grist mill that is a must visit.

Ok, so I don't hike. I ride my horse, but you can hike if that is what you like to do. Start early. Take a lunch. See the White Rocks overlook and the Sand Cave..yes another water fall too.
This place is located in Ewing Virginia and takes about an hour and 45 minutes to get there, but it is definitely a unique experince.

This outdoor free gun practice range was updated not too long ago and sits just outside of the Laurel Lake spillway and beach area.

Just about 5 miles from the farm, you can drive down to Cumberland River. If you like to tube or kayak, then this is one location to put into the river. There is a picnic area and the location is very relaxing . Me and the grandson like to throw rocks into the river.

Refuge Ridge is a wolf sanctuary. Visit refugeridge.org and see if you are able to take a tour. They have an educational facility.

Spend the day at the Waterpark (wave pool, slides, lazy river, etc). I believe there is also a mini-golf area here. There is a concession area at the park. Wal-Mart is located just across the road.
