An old lighthouse . With an amazing views . Just 3 minutes ride from our house . It is an amazing place to see the sunrise . Remember do not ride all the way down to the lighthouse, it can be dangerous . Just park the car on top of the hill and have a walk which also can be challenging but worth it .

An old lighthouse . With an amazing views . Just 3 minutes ride from our house . It is an amazing place to see the sunrise . Remember do not ride all the way down to the lighthouse, it can be dangerous . Just park the car on top of the hill and have a walk which also can be challenging but worth it .
A nice spot to see village of Furnas from above the clouds . If you visiting Furnas we would recommend to take the old road which goes thru Achadinha . Take the turn from highway to Achadinha and follow the signs to Salga and Salto do cavalo . It’s a country road with very beautiful landscapes , green fields . Drive slow . Be aware of cows and rabbits crossing the road . Enjoy the view !

A nice spot to see village of Furnas from above the clouds . If you visiting Furnas we would recommend to take the old road which goes thru Achadinha . Take the turn from highway to Achadinha and follow the signs to Salga and Salto do cavalo . It’s a country road with very beautiful landscapes , green fields . Drive slow . Be aware of cows and rabbits crossing the road . Enjoy the view !

A beautiful hidden beach . Keep in mind that the best time to visit the beach is morning - lunch time . As the sun here disappears quickly behind the mountain . Also be aware it’s not so easy to access , it’s a tricky mountain road . After you park the car you still will have to walk for a bit and go down the stairs.
But it’s worth visiting .

A beautiful view point . Where you can see the wavy ocean and on the other side a big waterfall . Best time to visit is after some rainy days so you can see the waterfall in all its beauty . Also it is a beautiful trail .

Note that the biggest supermarkets are located in Ponta Delgada and Ribeira grande . There several smaller supermarkets in Villa of Nordeste like Casa Cheia only 9 minutes walking from our house . Also a small market in front of the church in the center of the village .
