This cafe is one of Vienna's main historical landmarks. Go on a Sunday evening for a decaf and a slice of cake. If you're lucky, you'll beat the tourist queue and the pianist might still be playing.

a 2mn walk from my flat, this wonderful staircase was the subject of a poem. German Readers can see it engraved by the fountain. "In 1951 the Austrian author Heimito von Doderer (1896–1966) published his social novel Die Strudlhofstiege oder Melzer und die Tiefe der Jahre (The Strudlhof Steps or Melzer and the Depth of the Years), one of the main works of 20th century Austrian literature. Named after the staircase, around which some central plot points take place, it was filmed several times and adapted as a radio and stage play." (Wikipedia)

Airport Shuttle

There are two options to get to the center from the airport. The city Airport train is a bit overpriced (16E) in my opinion. I would advise to get a S-Bahn such as S7 or REX. If you want, get a transport pass on the WienMobil app (for Vienna City Center). Then, the extra airport ticket will be around 2 euros, as you will pay only until the city borders ;)

SPA culture

Beware - Austrian culture is fully naked and mixed sex at most SPAs, including in certain gyms and fitness clubs. If you're not sure, ask before entering ;)

Public transports

Vienna has a pretty awesome transport system. from my flat, the bus 40a will take you to the U6 line or to the ring. The tram D will take you through most historical buildings and in half an hour approximately to the main train station. Metros U4 and U2 are at walking distance. and don't forget the Franz Josef train station for day trips to Klosterneuburg or Krems
