Great bar which is the best place for wonderful free traditional irish music, seven nights a week from around seven pm offering a lively bar experience - get there early to have a high stool at the end of the bus looking onto the musicians :)

Great local bar with nightly traditional music - offering all the wonderful music of the Cobblestone without all the crowds - check out the snug too where they often play their music - you will be made very welcome wherever they are playing the music on the night you visit :)

Temple Bar is a bustling tourist area by day full of nice restaurants and cafes, quirky shops and bar and by night Dublin's principal bar and club district especially for visitors to Dublin ... check out the Temple Bar Food Market on a Saturday too as well as the National Photographic Museum - both located in Meeting House Square.

Parks & Nature

Phoenix Park is Europe's largest urban park and is a great place to cycle or walk through - look out for the deer which roam the park and once you don't get too near are very photogenic :)

Howth is a wonderful small village on a peninsula just north of Dublin with really cool cliff walks, walks on the piers, local fish restaurants and a farmer's market starting from Thursday but best on Saturday and Sunday - take the DART train from Connolly or Tara St station for a thirty minute seven euro (return) train ride along the coast offering great views - the DART train goes every 15-20 minutes :)

Donated by Lord Ardilaun of the Guinness family, it has a special place in the hearts of Dubliners and visitors alike :)

Sightseeing

Enjoy walking around the grounds of Dublin Castle for FREE - take some great pics and while you're there check out the Chester Beatty Library at the back of it's grounds - the castle was built in 1204 and now is the main venue for ceremonial and state receptions for the Irish government and President :)

The Chester Beatty Library is one of my favourite places - really interesting and eclectic collection of art and artefacts particularly from the East going back to the sixth century ... lovely garden behind the high hedge and wall and very photogenic spot for taking pics with a third floor balcony and a some brightly painted houses all around :) Won European Museum 2013
