Vērmanes Garden is the oldest public garden in the city. There is an open stage that during the summer period hosts different concerts and there are older folks playing chess on the benches in front of the stage. There is also a playground and bouncing castles for kids, teahouses and restaurants and also 24 hour flower market on one side of the park.

The biggest open market Riga Central Market (Latvian: Rīgas Centrāltirgus) is Europe's largest market and bazaar. It is one of the most notable structures from 20th century in Latvia and has been included in UNESCO World Heritage Site list together with Old Riga in 1998.

Cocktail lounge in the sky located on the 26th floor of Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija and featuring the best view in the city. Probably not the best idea to visit it on weekends as it is usually packed but other nights are great for enjoying a drink and awesome view.
