Old fashioned Bettys Tea Room is ALWAYS worth a visit. One in Ilkley and the larger one in Harrogate. You have to book for afternoon tea and cakes...decadence in a sophisticated style.

Skipton is a lovely market town north of Haworth. Called "The Gateway To The Dales" it has many interesting old buildings including a medieval castle well worth visiting.
The town is aslo great for shopping and many good quality restaurants.

A private home where the Bronte's were born. Now a small quirky restaurant in a schoolhouse/Victorian manner. Owners are fascinating to talk to. The walk to between Thornton and Haworth is called "The Bronte Way"...well worth the walk and absorb the local history.

Lovely ancient village near Trawden. No cars allowed, you have to hike in from the car parks. Old country style cafe (the only show in town) right out of Dickens novel! Full of character and good wholesome grub!!
