The Water of Leith winds through this historic area and you think you are in a tiny little artisan village rather than in the middle of the city. Close to a number of great galleries and a nice break from the usual city centre stuff. Historic buildings such as converted water mills and tanneries.

Recently refurbished to restore new life to this old building, and if you want to learn about the history of Scotland through the ages to the present day, this is it! On the new building, each floor houses a different age of Scotland, in Chronological order. Fantastic open air view of the Royal Mile and Old Town from the roof top, and again, all on your doorstep!!
