In 1975, John Ward opened Country Produce at 454 West Street North in Orillia. At the time, specialized fruit and vegetable shops were rare. John established Country Produce because he believed that chain stores were getting too much into packaging so that customers had to buy in quantites that they sometimes did not need.
This produce was not the highest quality and was not fresh by the time it left the chain store warehouses and into the hands of the consumer. Country Produce reversed this trend by offering the best quality products and displayed the merchandise so that customers could decide exactly what produce they wanted to purchase.

Big Chute Marine Railway is a patent slip at lock 44 of the Trent-Severn Waterway in Ontario, Canada. It works on an inclined plane to carry boats in individual cradles over a change of height of about 60 feet (18 m). It is the only marine railway (or canal inclined plane) of its kind in North America still in use.

Muskoka’s steamship heritage is older than Canada. The first ship steamed Lake Muskoka in 1866. In 2017, marked the RMS Segwun’s, 130 year history. She is North America’s oldest operating mail steamship. Wenonah II, a modern interpretation of a traditional steamship, is named in honour of Wenonah, the first steamship to sail Lake Muskoka.
