Drinks & Nightlife

Unchanged for years, except that they no longer actually sell scooter parts, this quirkily decorated, vintage style bar is great for real Italian hot chocolate or late night drinking. Occasional movie nights in the basement and a sweet courtyard for drinking out back.

Fascinating exhibitions in a beautiful set in a lovely park with football pitch and an outdoor gym. The park is also a good place to read, picnic or jog.

It's the new Damien Hirst gallery. Whatever you think of him, he hired a good architect. Come and stroke the spiral stairs and enjoy the space or eat at the once iconic Pharmacy restaurant now reborn.

Amazing range of music, performances and cultural events right by the Thames. In historic 1950s brutalist building. Shops and restaurants all around. And don't miss the skatepark underneath for the "other London".

Parks & Nature

Walk or jog in a loop along the Thames, perhaps running opposite the Houses of Parliament and under the weird MI6 building. This is exercise and sightseeing + Or build a sandcastle on the bank of Thames or mudlarking. Plenty of people do.

Entertainment & Activities

My favourite place on a Tuesday evening (only a fiver), a rainy Sunday afternoon or whenever. Slip back into the comfy seats and watch golden oldies or obscure new releases. Eat at the cafe or Benugo restaurant or drink cocktails at the bar.
