Fløyfjellet is a mountain central to the city centre. You can climb it in about an hour, or you can catch the cable car and enjoy the view within 10 minutes. From there, there are endless hiking possibilities, a few restaurants and a great view. Along the track and on the summit you will see troll statues and signs showing archetypal Norwegian folklore. The climb is suited for families as it is mostly paved road or gravel (although there are little to no cars).

The start point of the hike up Mount Ulriken is only 20 minutes away from the city centre by foot or 10 minutes by bus. The hike is only 1 hour if you're in good shape, but it is steep with stairs at certain points. We can also recommend the popular gondola as it will give you a thrilling experience and a beautiful view.
