Great cultural and visual (!) undertaking! Be ready to climb some steps, to learn something of the history of the city and to have an amazing view over the city and outskirts on a clear day. The Dom tower is the symbol of the city Utrecht and is a must see activity. If you rather not climb then just visit the Dom church and admire the tower from one of the terraces below with a nice beverage. Tickets to climb the tower are available online and in the VVV shop across from the Dom tower. In summer sometimes there are also a few night tours available.

This is the closest LOW BUDGET supermarket and is located one quarter over in Lombok. There are parking facilities for your car but it is also a short bike ride away from the apartment.

Closest drug store to the apartment called Etos. The store is located next to the Albert Heijn. Here you will find your shampoos, make up, deodorant, over the counter medicine, shower gel, shaving supplies, sun tan lotion, etc.

Large Albert Heijn supermarket with a wide range of products for the bigger shopping trips with car. On Saturdays parking will be really hard, so try to go any other day of the week. A really nice small local pub with a bit of an alternative (music) vibe situated directly at the Oudegracht downtown Utrecht. It is easy to overlook this small pub but it could be worth while stepping inside to check it out.

If you are a beer drinker then Kafé België is a must visit. It isn't a very cosy (gezellig) atmosphere inside.. it reminds me a bit of a local sport club canteen somehow.. but they do offer a LOT of beer and there is always a nice busy buzz. They also offer some cheap affordable food on the side.

If you are a wine lover then this is a great wine bar to visit. It is situated directly at the second main square of Utrecht called Neude. It is a nice location for both winter and summer. They offer a great selection of wines and there is always a good vibe.

Café de Zaak has the best terrace with the longest sun hours. There is a nice vibe and staff is very friendly. Did I mention that they have the longest sun hours? In winter this café also is worth a visit due to its cosy (gezellige) atmosphere. They tend to play a bit of alternative music but it always plays softly in the background.

Again a bit hidden you will find this bar/café restaurant at the end for the Oudegracht in .. the basement! Several per week they offer live music. Popular with internationals and locals. Great atmosphere.

They have also taken into account allergies and offer some flavors for those with intolerance and they even offer vegan ice cream if that is what you're looking for..!

This is a nice local restaurant just a few minutes by bicycle from the apartment. You can also just go there for a drink. They offer a good changing menu for very affordable prices. There is always a good vibe. You can sit outside (heaters) or inside.
