I am totally in love with the Cardamom buns! All the goods from this Swedish inspired bakery are lovely, but the Cardamom buns are just so warming and tasty that I can't resist them!

Definitely our favourite local French restaurant. You can stop in for wine and cheese in the downstairs bar, or have a proper french meal in the restaurant upstairs - booking a must.

The Honours offers relaxed fine dining. It's the bistro offering of noted Edinburgh Chef Martin Whishart, and always delights. You'll definitely need to book - preferably a few weeks in advance.

This is without doubt the best Malaysian food in Edinburgh. The decor is cheap and cheerful, but the food is the real deal!

A cafe in a flower shop - what's not to like? Artisan are the original Edinburgh roasters and make an excellent coffee. The flowers are lovely too!

These guys make some of the very best coffee in Edinburgh, and they've now opened a cafe right here in the West End. They are very serious about their coffee - it's all very technical but also tasty!

Sightseeing

It's probably a large part of why you're visiting Edinburgh and it doesn't disappoint! I find the War Memorial both beautiful and moving, and I just love St Margaret's Chapel - the oldest building.

Best way to reach Stockbridge is via the walkway on the Water of Leith. Along the way you will find this charming building over a natural spring - a temple to Hygieia, the Greek Goddess of Health.

If you're in the area, a detour to Ann St will take you to a perfectly elegant Georgian street. The houses all have pretty front gardens, which you don't often see in Edinburgh and adds to the charm.
