Parks & Nature

This is the biggest park in Copenhagen. Good for a picnic and hanging out. Has lots of great playgrounds. Very popular for jogging (and doing other sports, from cross fit to slack rope!).

This is the local beach! Expect it to be crowded on warm summer days, but that is of course because it is a pretty nice place to go for a swim. There is also a big jetty you can jump from. There is a small kiosk, but it might be a good idea to bring water and snacks :-)

The botanical gardens is a quiet oasis in Copenhagen. Visit is free in the garden and greenhouses. Good destination if it's raining? Try to spot the turtles in the lakes around the garden :-)

Entertainment & Activities

This is an interesting destination for the whole family... A playground with swings and trampolines on top of one of the tallest buildings in Copenhagen. It is situated in Nordhavn, a new neighborhood which is under construction. If you are interested in modern architecture, then it's definitely worth a visit. Trendy but still relatively quiet, it's also good for hanging out on the harbourside.

Sightseeing

This is the Little Mermaid. She is perhaps not the most impressing statue you have ever seen, but we recommend a walk from Østerport Station, over Kastellet (the start shaped old fortress), past the Little Mermaid and further in along the harbour side to Amalienborg and ending at Nyhavn in the centre of the city. It's a really beautiful route with some of the best sites along the way.

Food Scene

It's called Copenhagen Streetfood Market, but is essentially a an old warehouse full of great take-away restaurants... Inside is cozy no matter the weather. Outside you have a great view of the city (especially in the sunset). Definitely recommended for lunch and dinner. You can cross the bridge from Nyhavn by foot or bike.
