Duiske Abbey is a 13th century gothic and romanesque abbey founded by the Norman Lord William Marshall. It is one of the first, largest and possibly the finest Cistercian monastery in Ireland. It was dissolved in 1536 by King Henry VIII and fell into ruin. It was reestablished in 1812 and restoration as an early Cistercian monastery was completed in the 1980s where 13th century stonework can still be seen. It is currently the parish church.

Members of this ancient family were High Kings of Leinster and on a tour of Borris House you will learn of some interesting family members down through the years. This 650 acre walled private park and woodland is the centrepiece of Borris village. It is an exclusive wedding venue and home to several boutique festivals throughout the year.
