Birthplace and home of Queen Victoria until she became Queen and the home of Princess Diana and her sons. William and Kate live here now. Has a lovely restaurant and a fabulous little cafe , if you like English china tea sets and a cream tea, its the place for you
Kensington Palace was built for Queen Victoria and is set in the beautiful Kensington Gardens, less than a half hour stroll from here. Princess Diana lived there and now it is home to William and Kate and Harry. Theres always an Exhibition on inside and the garden cafe and gift shop is so very English, understated and relaxed, with the best Italian gelato! You feel you have a little piece of British Royalty close on hand, without the full on tourists crowds of Buck House…You can carry on afterwards to Kensington High Street and Knightsbridge to browse the shops…

For a 1st time visitor on a day/dry evening out I would recommend a train to Westminster and then a walk over the River Thames to the South Bank, turn left and its anything from 2 hours to a whole day to Tower Bridge depending on where you explore as you go. The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, The London Eye,Royal Festival Hall, National Film Theatre , Gabriels Wharf, Shakespeares Globe,Tate Modern, St Pauls Cathedral, Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge & Borough Market, The Shard, the City…and theres more … You can jump on a River cruise…Eat in a million places… the OXO Tower restaurant/cafe on the 18th floor is a great stop off, just to see the view from the Terrace
