Really good food, this is probably the sit-down restaurant we frequent the most. There are lots of other fast food options in town too: Chipotle, Pasta and Company, Wow burger, Red Robin etc..

Rated one of the best ice cream shops in America. Salt and Straw is worth the drive to downtown Portland. They give as many samples as you want, I recommend trying them all. The Salted caramel or Chocolate Brownie are my favorites. Best to go during the day or weekdays. In the summer, evenings and weekends can cause an hour long wait. Blue Star donuts, across the street is also good. (But they sell out if you come too late in the day.)

It's an iconic portland donut shop. The donut names are risque and the donuts are pretty mediocre. But for some reason, people count it as one of the places you need to see in Portland. Wilsonville is very suburban and lacks any good bakeries. Starbucks is the best we've got.

They have a number of Gluten free options and not too far from Wilsonville. (10 minutes) Aurora is also a good place to visit antique shops.

This is the place to go if you want a cupcake. All cupcakes are gluten free but they don't taste like it. Kyra has won Cupcake wars FOUR times. Lake oswego is about a 15 minute drive. Well worth it whether you have a gluten intolerance or not!

This former tree farm is owned by the World Forestry Center. It is a 10-minute drive, but it feels like you are lost in the mountains. You can take several short hikes. The longest is less than 5 miles.

Every visitor that comes to stay with us, get's carted off to Silver Falls. It's a long drive (about an hour). Probably not worth it, but there are lots of great hikes here, passing multiple water falls. Our favorite hike is South Falls, you get to walk underneath the waterfall and it's only about one mile. Nearby Silverton is a quaint little German town that is fun to visit.

Getting Around
WES (light rail) runs mornings and late afternoons/evenings. You can take it to downtown Portland but will need to spend the day downtown in order to catch the return ride. Tickets for WES are debit/credit card only. Buses also start and end here. Buses are free to ride in Wilsonville.
