I'd never been to a place like this. You cook your meal in the flavored broth of your choice. It's a cool experience (and much cheaper than the melting pot) if you've never been to a place like this. I highly recommend!

If it is a Saturday that the farmer's market is open, and you are not there, you are not doing Madison right. It does get crowded after 9:30 because of it's awesomeness. I love to grab some goodies, then go sit on the grass surrounding the capital and munch away (good way to escape the crowd). Lots of food trucks. I LOVE the empanada truck by Colectivo Coffee. (located around Capitol - not coming up correctly on this map)

Dane County Farmers Market

It does get crowded after 9:30 because of it's awesomeness. I love to grab some goodies, then go sit on the grass surrounding the capital and munch away (good way to escape the crowd). Yummy brewery within walking distance. They are occasionally on Groupon too. Worth a stop.

LOVE this place! They always have jazz on Tuesdays - but is good any day of the week. It's not really labelled on the outside - so keep your eye's open. This will sneak up on you. I love this little eclectic place. They let you bring in the delish pizza from next door too!

I bike here from my house. Rent SUP's, kayaks and almost any un-motorized water vehicle. You can boat out by the Monona terrace for some new insta pic's ;) with the capital in the background. The staff is SUPER friendly. They have a nice area if you just want to hang out by the water, too.

Close by. Lifeguarded beach in the summer. Beautiful place to watch the sunset (anytime of year). Surrounded by a bunch of green space and bike trails.

If it is the warmer part of the year, you CAN NOT MISS walking up to the top and strolling around the outside of the dome. Beautiful way to see the city and the have a small museum (free) on the inner part of the dome.
