Crystal Bay Steak & Lobster House...Yes, it feels like you're in 1940s New York. The casino is a local's favorite and the concert hall is usually rocking. Recommend the steak and lobster and Argentine wine. One of the best things on the menu: Caesar salad with REAL anchovies (optional, of course). Beaches, Outlooks, Hikes, & Nature

Get out of the cabin and enjoy everything Tahoe has to offer!
Sand Harbor is an historic State Park as well as the most photographed beach in Tahoe. Take the Thunderbird Lodge tour to learn more about this hot spot. (Entry fee required.) As of June 2019, you can now travel between IV and Sand Harbor via the bike path, which is shared use and starts near Tunnel Creek Cafe. While it is officially a "bike path" beware of walkers, dogs, strollers, etc. If you opt to take Fido on the path, PLEASE use dog boots because as of August 2019, the path has burned several doggy paws due to sidewalk temps of 117+ degrees.

A well-kept secret among locals. At the end of Barbara Street begins a short but steep loop that crosses a small stream at the top before heading back down. No views to speak of, but peace, tranquility, and nature. Perfect in spring, summer, and fall, but in winter it's fun for hiking and sledding. If you walk from the house, please look out for speeding cars as you cross Mount Rose Highway!

It took more than 5 years to fund and build, but the East Shore Trail finally arrived in 2019 and is a gem of the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. Parking is inexpensive and convenient, the trail is well cared for and offers beautiful views of the lake. If you bring Fido, he can enjoy some of the offshoots along the path, but the NV State Park at the end of the 2.5 miles (Sand Harbor) is humans-only. At the bridge, you will see red wagons, which will protect Fido's paws from the burning-hot pavement. Bathrooms available along the path, too.
