This bakery/cafe/brunch spot is iconic. Its other location on 18th street always has lines wrapped around the corner. This spot just opened and their popularity is catching up with them. Great pastries and brunch in a hip scene.

Best slice of pizza and super cheap! I love thin crust pizza. They do it right with interesting ingredients. At $3 or $4 for a huge slice you can't go wrong. I like their white pizza with ricotta and spinach.

Grab tamales, beans, rice and homemade salsa to eat at home or for a picnic at Dolores park. I love their vegetable burrito with fresh grilled vegetables like broccoli and carrots.
I love good cheese. This tiny and super cute restaurant has great cheese samplings and great sandwiches with great local wines.

A lovely Italian restaurant. Small and quaint and very popular. Get there early if you want a seat or make a reservation. Fresh pastas and delicious pizzas. You can usually get a seat if you are willing to sit at the communal table and share your space. Super hip vibe.

Hang out at Ocean beach then walk across the road to the Beach Chalet. While the restaurant upstairs in nice I think the best thing to do is picnic on their back lawn. They have lounge chairs spread through out the grass and they offer table service right to your blanket. Get a mimosa or Bloody Marry with friends and indulge in thier french fries and sliders while relaxing outside just on the outskirts of Golden Gate Park. Take a stroll through the park while you're at it.

This outdoor Farmer's Market is so much fun . You will find everything from local baked goods, local veggies, meats & cheese to San Francisco art and jewelry. Lots of fresh flowers too! The old ferry building is a must see. It is right on the water and full of cute shops and great restaurants.

I love visiting flea markets when I visit foreign cities. You will find interesting household items and clothing mixed with some food. Its a bit on the expensive side buy a fun day out if you like flea markets. It's the last weekend of every month from 10-4pm.

So much fun! When the sun is shining in SF, this park on a hill is perched with city dwellers sharing lunch and drinks. A great place to people watch, you will see all kinds of characters. We often picnic in the grass with a bottle of wine with a large group of friends. There is also a newly renovated play area for kids. Definitely try it out on a sunny day..

Look for the Golden Gate bridge and Bay bridge, see downtown and Twin Peaks. Only a short 15-20 minute walk from our place.
There is so much to do and see at the park. On Sundays some of the streets are closed to car traffic and there are people walking everywhere.
