Sightseeing

One of Europe’s most stunning Baroque landmarks, the Upper and Lower Belvedere and an extensive garden is listed as UNESCO World Heritage. Today the Belvedere houses the greatest collection of Austrian art dating from the Middle Ages to the present day, complemented by the work of international artists (Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, and Max Beckmann). Highlights from the holdings Vienna 1880–1914 are the world’s largest collection of Gustav Klimt’s paintings (including the famous golden Art Nouveau icons the Kiss (Lovers) and Judith) and works by Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka.

The Gloriette on Schönbrunn Hill is one of my favourite spots in Vienna to go for a walk: the view (over Vienna with the Schönbrunn palace in front of it) is simply amazing, yet you are surrounded by nature (no city life). ! On Thursday, the 25th of May in 2017, the yearly Summer Night Concert Schönbrunn will be held by the Vienna Philharmonic (Richard Wagner described the this orchestra as being one of the most outstanding in the world) in this very surroundings. It's an AMAZING spectacle, with free admission and absolutely recommendable.

Food Scene

The Art Nouveau building is home to both, * the butterfly house with exotic butterflies, flying around freely in this close-to-tropical-nature-recreated-surrounding and * (therefore) one of Vienna's most beautiful places to have a late brunch: the Cafe-Restaurant Palm House, with 15-m-high ceilings, where you can sit between up to 10 meter high palm trees and enjoy your late brunch.
