Restaurants have come and gone but McMenamin's has been a staple in the neighborhood for decades. Great food, drinks and community spirit. You really get to know the neighborhood at this spot. This is more like a Mt. Airy watering hole that is not for ambience but we love it.

Another Mt. Airy Gem which has the best coffee in town! Yes we are a bit biased but they also have their own baked goods that you will not find anywhere else. If you like the coffee so much, buy a bag or too and make at home.

If you are also looking to buy some books on Politics, history, literature, children's, new authors,( African American culture and more), definitely check out. You will also be in the center of Philadelphia History where our founders hung out. Germantown was the first Municipality in this country.

You will also be in the center of Philadelphia History where our founders hung out. Germantown was the first Municipality in this country.
Yes there is one in every city but when in doubt, check it out.

Oh my goodness, if you are on any kind of diet do not go here! It is definitely another gem in the city! They were also on some reality show on Netflix where they one the grand prize. From Cookies, cupcakes to 4 tier cakes they got it. Delicious!

Wyck is a National Historic Landmark house, garden, and farm in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia that served as the ancestral home to one Philadelphia family for nine generations (1690-1973). Here, traditional Quaker culture blended with a passion for innovation. The people who lived and worked at Wyck expressed these values through their commitment to education, horticulture, natural history, and preservation.

the 23 bus bus stops right in front of our place going North which will take you further into Mt. Airy's Commercial district and into neighboring Chestnut Hill which has even more shops, restaurants, bars, and more.
Pelham Road

If you want to go into Center City, definitely use the regional rail to get you there faster. It is about a 10 minute walk from our place. And you can always Lyft or Uber back home. But if you are itching for more restaurants, nightlife and culture, at least take the regional rail downtown to Suburban Station.
SEPTA Carpenter Station Park and Ride

This is one of the best places to hike or Bike in the city. It is a little bit of a walk from our place but if you drive there type in Horter and Wissahickon in your GPS which will lead you to one of the entrances. .
