塱原濕地是現時全港最大的淡水濕地，由不同種類之農田組成，有稻田，西洋菜，蓮花田，通菜田，秋葵等等，亦夾雜著荒廢農地，因此不但為鳥不少水鳥、平原鳥及林鳥提供食物，荒廢農田亦為雀鳥提供不少藏身之所，因此吸引不少雀鳥前來補給渡冬。 對鳥攝者一而言塱原是個充滿驚喜的地方，因品種出現十分多樣性，水鳥，平原鳥，林鳥以至猛禽,均有可能見到，亦可親身踏足搜索，驚喜度滿分！ 另外，令鳥攝者喜歡經常踏足塱原鳥攝的原因，是塱原是個優美的地方，只要細心捕捉，不難拍到優美的畫面，既可拍到鳥，亦可呈現牠們優美的生活環境。
