There are not many complete castles in Yorkshire, There is a ruined one in Pontefract, but none other than this. There is a lovely walk along the river to the side of the castle too.

The best preserved Norman castle in England, well worth the £8 adult entry fee to walk around it, admire the views and take a step back in time.

Skipton is a lovely market town north of Haworth. Called "The Gateway To The Dales" it has many interesting old buildings including a medieval castle well worth visiting. The town is aslo great for shopping and many good quality restaurants.
