Nelson has a famous Saturday market, with lots of food, local crafts, fruit n veg and other treats. Can be busy! 8am - 1pm.

Great time shopping and eating is at the Saturday Nelson and Sunday at the Motueka markets. You will find all kinds of specialties sold by locals i.e. delicious olive oil, honey, specialty cheese, bread, fruits and vegetables, delicatessen German meats and far more for sale and on spot consumption. There are plants, clothing, jewelry, antiques and anything you might think of that you “have to have”, or just browse around and enjoy the local scene. Both markets are open 8AM -1PM. The sooner you come the more choices you will have. These markets are very popular and attended by many people especially in summer time.

The Saturday Nelson Market is famous New Zealand wide and a must do for most when they visit the region. Local artists, food makers and the like show off their wares with gusto and experience. Not to missed.
