Biggest park in Bucharest, dating back to 1936. It surrounds a lake with boat rides available. Along the lake you can find several coffee shops and restaurants, and the biggest beer hall in Europe, Beraria H. Bike rentals available with an id card.
It is a good place for jogging, or walking, or biking out. Also, in the evening, you can eat and entertain in one of the restaurants that are in the park.
Plan a romantic walk with your partner during the night or an ad-hoc picnic with the children during the day :)
Quite simply, this glorious park, spread over 187 hectares around Herastrau lake is one of Romania's crown jewels.
Herestrau Park is the biggest park in Bucharest with lots of green and a big lake. There is also a Museum in the park as well as a couple of more museums nearby.

“The Palace was ordered by the last dictator of communist Romania. Construction of this colonial building took 13 years. The ornate interior is beautiful lined with marble, various types of wood and crystals. The building consisted of two houses of Parliament, conference centre, exhibition hall, museums and hundreds of rooms. It is also the world's second-largest administrative building after the Pentagon.”

“Located in the centre of Bucharest, Cismigiu Gardens are the city’s first public garden, opened in 1854. The park was designed by landscape designer Wilhelm Mayer in the style of English gardens and features playgrounds, a gazebo that hosts live concerts in summer and plenty of green meadows for picnics. In the middle of Cismigiu Gardens, an artificial lake is a perfect spot for renting a boat in summer or a pair of skates in winter. My hosts of this day Andrei and Alexandra from Finding Romania travel agency selected these beautiful surroundings for their photo.”

“If there are concerts programmed at the Athenaeum, you should try and attend. If not, the building is superb as it is one of the architectural icons of Bucharest. Definitely, not to miss”
