My son can spend an entire day in the dinosaur rooms alone, but he also loves the Hall of Human Origins. Beyond the famous exhibits, the Discovery Center holds all kinds of hands-on stuff for kids—dinosaur bones, microscopes, archaeology. It’s all designed just for kids ages 5-10. Controlled, timed-entry keeps the Discovery Center from getting crowded. So as soon as you get to the museum, get your timed entry ticket from admissions. That way you can enjoy other exhibits while you wait.

As an outdoor enthusiast and active mom who grew up in NYC, I know the city’s best outings are hands on, educational, and fun! I enjoy sharing my favorite city spots with my Airbnb guests.

The Museum of Natural History always has stunning and life-like exhibits that will blow you away. Take the M-79 cross town bus and it is just on the other side of Central Park.

Large museum with so much to do. Definitely plan to to be in here for at least 3 hours if you wish to see all exhibits.

My favorite museum. They even have overnight stays so you can spend the night. Connected to the Hayden Planetarium.
