Pourquoi les habitants le recommandent
Dedicated to the V&A’s collection of toys, from dollhouses and puppet theatres to Lego and action figures, this museum also offers plenty to admire from an adult perspective, from its mosaic floor to art exhibitions. Look for the sensory area, with a sandpit, dressing-up box, and interactive displays like a Victorian kitchen. Make sure that you find the leather rocking horses and take a ride. They have two sizes, with crash-mats all around.

Great museum with all amenities for parents with children. There's a great cafe inside and often lots of interactive options. Only a short 10 minute walk or bus ride and can keep small ones entertained for a long time on a rainy day.

Museum about childhood toys and games - kids enjoy it as its set up so that they can charge around and there are indoor sandpits etc, adults love it for nostalgia factor. It's got a decent cafe too. Free (I think maybe you pay to go into the temporary exhibitions).

“Great place to come for a walk. Visit the farmers market on Sundays. Sit by the lake or wander along the canal looking at the colourful canal boats. There is also a little coffee and brunch place by the lake and the park is surrounded by some great pubs if you’re in the mood for a pint or a Sunday roast. Both sides of the park also have fantastic play areas for kids. ”

“Run by the same family for over a century, this much-loved café on Bethnal Green Road is a must for breakfast or lunch – even if just for the cool Art Deco interior. The place is small and always busy, but known for its incredibly friendly, hospitable atmosphere. You’ll leave with a smile on your face and, if you’re lucky, some free bread-and-butter pudding.
