The Mall is something everyone should see. Access to Smithsonian museums is free. On one end of the mall ends you can visit the capital building and botanical gardens, on the other end you can find WWII Memorial, Vietnam Wall memorial and further down Lincoln Memorial. From time to time you may be there at the same time as visitors from the Honor Flight, which is truly an amazing experience. In April you can walk down to see cherry blossoms.
