Eco Termales hot springs has 4 small hot springs/pools all in a row so not a lot of privacy but quiet with great food. Reservations ARE definitely required.

For soaking in hot springs there are quite a few around, but our favorite is Ecotermales. It's near the town of La Fortuna , about a 90 minute drive away. It is about $30 for a half day and you sign up for either a morning shift (10am to 4pm) or an evening shift (do the morning). The facility is immaculate, the water is amazing, and the ambiance excellent. It's a bit hard to get to (roads are great but you need to know where you are going). Suggest you decline their 'in house restaurant' lunch offering and have a late lunch in the town of La Fortuna afterwards.

Our favorite hot springs! There are some that are larger, but over-priced and crowded. Ecotermales is beautiful and the folks there are extremely helpful.

ECOTERMALES HOT SPRINGS, LA FORTUNA An inexpensive a very nice hot springs. 7 large ponds of varying temperatures, great bar. OK restaurant. A few nice trails. Hot water from volcano flows to stream that fills ponds.
