This is our favourite spot for delicious homemade pies. You'll often find locally sourced fresh meats, organic eggs, exotic health conscious superfoods as well as vegan & vegetarian friendly options. Say hi to Jules for us when you visit.

Alderwood Farm is charming and has excellent cuts of meat and fresh made sausage. My favorite are the Lamborginis. Try them.

If you live in Vancouver, bring a cooler w you on your visit & consider a stop at this small mid-island shop for farm-fresh eggs. Also: frozen ranch-raised beef from the owners' ranch in northern BC.

Meal Takeaway
“Serving artisanal toast (on Bowen that's apparently a thing), and Earnest Ice Cream (Vancouver's favourite local brand) right on pier. Right next door is "Branch 01", a boutique filled with local ceramics, wood works, potted plants and much more. Only fifteen steps from the ferry as you walk off!”

Natural Feature
“This is a beautiful, fairly flat, easy-moderate hike around Killarney lake. It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour for most hikers. You can lengthen the hike by starting from another trail through Crippen Park, or continuing on to Mt. Gardner afterwards. Crippen Park is on the bus route, a short walk from the ferry/Snug Cove, or a 30 minute walk from Kiwi Cottage.”
