Among many other things, the Castro Theatre is known for its sing-alongs, when it screens popular musicals with captions so that the audience can belt those lyrics together. Expect a very energetic crowd—the staff often hands out goodie bags with various props for everyone to use throughout the movie. They’ve shown movies like Sound of Music, The Little Mermaid, and Grease. Definitely wear something fun if you can—there’s often a costume contest. And if you get there early, you’ll get a chance to hear the in-house organist perform.

This old-school movie palace has been a fixture in the Castro neighborhood since 1922. The grand interior and signature pre-show organ music are worth the price of admission alone — but stick around for their ever-changing roster of classic films, spirited sing-alongs, and rotating film festivals. …
One of the last remaining classic movie theatres in the city. Get there before the movie starts to hear the in-house Wurlitzer organ performances.
This famous theater is in the heart of the Castro and encompasses some of our cities soul. Go and feel like a funky local :) Has many special shows with live talent or sing-a-longs.
Historical landmark of San Francisco. You won't find current releases here, but you will often find something more kitschy and fun like sing-alongs or film festivals here.

“When the weather is nice, you can barely see the grass due to the throngs of people lounging around. Luckily, the park was recently renovated and is big enough that you're bound to find a spot you like. The southwest corner is good for a panoramic view of the city skyline (and usually far enough away from the folks enjoying their herbal refreshments on the northern slope). There's also a nice kid's playground, although it's geared more towards older kids.”

“Millennials love to stand in lines. Go mid-morning on weekdays to avoid long lines. But, the food is well worth it! Riches beyond your wildest dreams: butter-golden pains au chocolat, cappuccinos with ferns drawn in dense foam and croque monsieurs turbo-loaded with ham, two kinds of cheese and béchamel. Don't be dismayed by the inevitable line out the door – it moves fast – but be aware that lolling in Dolores Park is the only possible post-Tartine activity.”
