The highest lake in Europe and on the edge of the beautiful Mercantour National Park. There is a unique species of mountain trout and Arctic Char in the lake. Fabulous walks around the lake and beyond. Wild raspberries to pick on the woods on the way up to the lake in the summer. There is a cafe on the waters edge serving lunch and refreshments as well as overnight stays.

There is a stunning walk up to this lake, which is the highest Europe - The 2 hour hike up to it is fairly easy.

Un grand classique dans la région a ne pas manquer... accès actuellement règlementé... se renseigner avant de s’y rendre( office du tourisme)
