Famous Library that partially burned down in december 1989, during the fights leadign to the end of communism. Several unique manuscripts were destroyed in the fire.

This library has been fouded by the first king of Romania, Carol I, whose statue can be admired in front of the building. It burned down during the Romanian Revolution, over 50000 books being lost.
