Another favorite local coffee shop and restaurant, this cafe is worth the walk from the apartment through lovely, Victorian houses and gardens in Ditmas Park. The food and vibe are wonderful and a great way to start or top off your day!

Super delicious Mexican food--for sitting in or taking out. Family-friendly and doesn't hurt your wallet. We love their tacos and tortas.

Buy veggies and fresh bread at the Farmer's Market in front of main park entrance at Grand Army Plaza on Saturday morning. Fly a kite or kick around a ball in the Meadow. Explore the playgrounds.

OF COURSE you will visit the High Line while in town. How can you miss it? We suggest to go early, early in the morning or late at night so that you can avoid heavy crowds. Check to see what time it closes in the summer. Start at the beginning and go until the end; or get on and off as you check out art galleries, bars, the Chelsea Market, etc. along the way. Be sure to bring your camera. You can literally spend the whole day along the High Line. Lots of fun stuff for kids.

Most tourists visit Century 21 for designer deals. Since you're in Brooklyn, it's worth a trip to Bay Ridge to shop at the Brooklyn Century 21 instead of their lower Manhattan store. Less crowded and more deals!
