This place is terrific. The owner studied pastry making in France and makes the most amazing croissants you can find in Phoenix. So worth the visit when you are here. Two block walk. Just go.

Great special occasion restaurant. They make amazing chocolate chip cookies in addition to terrific southwest inspired meals. Great find secluded from the street. Driving distance but soooo worth the trip.

Newer pizza place with giant sized thick crust pizza. You can get normal sized ones as well. It is a bit of a walk but doable in cooler weather. This is where you go when you are hungry.

Mid-eastern inspired food with American and modern touches. The first one was in Tempe years ago, and now there are several in Phoenix. There are great variations of humus and lots of pita based dishes that will surprise you and fill you up. Many veggie based dishes.

The best country wester gay dance bar I have ever been in. Decent dance floor and friendly dancers. It has gone more pop on the last year, but it still is great. Also they usually have a fantastic Mexican food truck in the parking lot if the dancing makes you hungry.

An amazing botanical garden that is wonderful all the time except during the middle of the day in the summer. Fantastic plant collections and a great new restaurant named Gertrudes which is building a great reputation too.
