Mt. Tabor is a short walk from the apt. It offers forested hiking trails, open air reservoirs, jungle gyms, and great views of the city. This park is a non-active volcano, and about 500 elevation gain from the apt, so plan accordingly. If you are looking for some exercise, check it out.

Mill Ends Park is approximately 400 square inches in size, has zero hiking trails, but is always good for a laugh if you find yourself downtown near Waterfront Park. I wouldn't plan a special trip (there isn't much to see), but if you are down there, check it out.

This is the closest bus stop to the apt. The #14 line stops here every 15 mins, and takes about ~20 minutes to get into downtown. A day pass is $5.00. Download the Tri-Met Tickets app for tickets or plan on bringing exact change for paying on the bus.

Constructed in 1927 as an actual theater, much later it was turned into a movie theater by the McMenamins brothers. It is a now a state of the art movie theater with lounge chairs, and still plenty of history.

Night skiing/boarding at Skibowl is a ton of fun. It is the largest night skiing resort in the country. The cost is less, and the experience of night skiing with so many runs is a blast. To top it off there is a bar/restaurant 2/3 up the mountain that is a great place to warm up and have a drink.

Our favorite resort on Mt Hood. Meadows offers the best runs, variety, and snow IMO. If you are a serious skier/boarder I would recommend Meadows over Timberline and Skibowl.
