EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is an immersive, interactive museum located in Dublin's Docklands about the history of the Irish diaspora and emigration to other countries. When things get tough in Ireland, the people emigrate - sometimes never to return and sometimes for just short periods (like us). The Irish diaspora is huge. It's whiskEY with an "EY". Don't go buying any of the cheap Scottish whisky without an "E". If they can't spell it right, then why would you expect them to make it right? Seriously though, the history of Irish whiskey is very very interesting. From world domination and hundreds of small distilleries to a struggling stagnant industry - the reasons for the decline are many and fascinating - Irish abstinence movements, US prohibition, Anglo Irish trade embargoes, WW2 neutrality. Thankfully many did survive and the industry is now back growing again with new distilleries opening up.
