Tivoli Gardens amusement park in Copenhagen is a must for all visitors to the city, young and old. Tivoli is located just a few minutes walk from City Hall, and with the Copenhagen Central Station as its nearest neighbour it is very easy to get to. Tivoli Gardens was founded in 1843 and has become a national treasure and an international attraction. Fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen visited many times, as did Walt Disney and many other celebrities, who all fell in love with the gardens. Part of Tivoli Gardens' secret is that there is something for everyone. The scenery is beautiful with exotic architecture, historic buildings and lush gardens. At night, thousands of coloured lights create a fairy tale atmosphere that is completely unique.

Great local gem for winterbathing / and authentic indian sauna-gus-sessions. Love this place. Its a bit of a trip, but the place and Amager Strand nearby makes it a beautiful getaway from central Cph.

Beautiful little gem just near Reffen on Refshaleøen. Lovely people, great coffee and food - and not to forget brilliant sauna and winterbathing options just in their backyard. Ask a the counter for access to the sauna. It's super cheap and cosy.

Go here to enjoy the beach and the ocean. The artificial island is separated from the original beach by a lagoon which is crossed by three bridges. The beach has two sections. The northern section has a natural beach environment with winding paths, broad sandy beaches and low dunes. The southern section offers a so-called city beach with a broad promenade and areas for ball play or picnicking. There is also a small marina and parking facilities at the southern end. The lagoon has low-water areas for children as well as a 1,000 m swimming course.

During the week, many locals pass the pool for a quick dip on their way home from work. The quality of the water is checked daily and has to be approved by the authorities before swimmers are let in. There are five pools in all, two of which are specifically for children. The shallowest pool is 30 cm deep. The diving towers are one, three, and five metres high respectively. Lovely place to relax and soak up the sun while still being right in the heart of Cph.

In 2016 the place got a proper make-over with the arrival of new owners. Gone are the plastic and palm trees, and in have come instead steel, wood, concrete and glass. With a location directly across from Langelinie and the iconic beautiful sunsets over the city's rooftops, is it really the closest you can come to Ibiza-feel in Cph. Besides the beachbar/lounge area there is a 400 sqm bathing zone in the habour for guests to use - and a new restaurant has also opened. It's called Restaurant Hal(v), and finds its culinary inspiration from the Caribbean cuisine and offers lots of share-dishes for the 35 indoor and 50 outdoor seats under the new large canopies.
And as always, there is also always the possibility of beach volleyball, petanque and a new basketball court. Perfect for a dry summer day. Enjoy!
