Nightly bands outside in a garden at this wonderful wine shop/restaurant/bar/music venue. Buy a bottle of wine or beer and they send you out to the garden with a bucket of ice and glasses. Food ordered at a window, but of very high quality. Delightful atmosphere with fairy lights and a mix of interesting people. At the far edge of the artsy Bywater District, on the levee.

Great bakery and breakfast/lunch place nestled into a sleepy block in the Marigny neighborhood. Easy to walk or bike from the house, the former is a meandering 20 minute walk. Very local, with local papers and New York Times available on the counter.
