Today, the villa’s tower stands watch over a large pool, plenty of chaise longues under a lovely pergola, 2 outdoor dining areas, one covered with a lovely pergola and a barbecue. Climb the tower to read, stargaze or enjoy a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace. The interiors are cozy like a private home and offer Sky TV and Wi-Fi access, as well as air-conditioned bedrooms. Beamed ceilings, stone walls and rough-hewn fireplace surrounds lend rustic charm to the living spaces at Torre. In the living room, striped sofas, a painted cabinet and an upholstered ottoman create a welcoming, cozy spot, and the bright dining room, which opens to the garden, has both wicker chairs and banquette seating around a large farmhouse-style table. The kitchen’s open wood shelving has old-fashioned character, but it’s equipped with modern appliances. Each of the villa’s three bedrooms, tucked into the tower, has an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. On the ground floor, there’s a bedroom with a king bed, and on the second floor, a bedroom with two bunk beds has plenty of room for children. On the third floor, a bedroom with a king bed opens onto the rooftop terrace. Though the villa itself is peaceful and rural, it’s just a 5-minute drive from the Antognolla golf course and restaurant. Torre is located on the Murlo estate, so take the time to explore the location surrounding the Murlo castle and the valley of Monte Tezio, both visible from the villa. The estate lies between Umbertide and Perugia, making it easy to explore more of Umbria if you’d like. Villa Montepulciano

Wine lovers will find much to appreciate at Villa Montepulciano. Located on an estate that still produces boutique wines and olive oils, the villa offers guests the chance to taste wines grown just outside. Six bedrooms, divided between a main house and guest cottage, offer space for up to fifteen guests, and rustic decor and panoramic views of the countryside are constant reminders you’re in the middle of Tuscany. A stay at Villa Montepulciano offers guests the chance to try local specialties from fruit to wine and olive oil. Sample produce from the orchard, enjoy a welcome basket of breakfast treats and taste wine with the villa’s owner, a sommelier. Create your own specialties on the outdoor barbecue, then, serve them on the outdoor dining table. Relax on the loungers around the pool or on the portico’s bench swing, and don’t forget to post vacation photos via the villa’s Wi-Fi. Built in the 1850s, the villa was recently restored in a way that respects its rustic past but provides modern comfort. In the living room, brick arches and terracotta floors nod to traditional Tuscan style, while a fireplace and contemporary sectional sofas create a welcoming place to sit.
