Wine tasting on River Road is beautiful and fun! Hahn winery is my favorite. You'll see rolling hills, vineyards, farms, and wineries. There aren't any restaurants when you get far down the road, so I recommend packing a lunch or taking cheese and crackers with you.

Whale watching! Sanctuary runs a smaller boat out of Moss Landing. It's a more environmentally friendly operation staffed with wonderful and helpful naturalists. I've seen so many whales and dolphins from their boat!

Rent a kayak in Moss Landing and kayak into the slough to see a great variety of wildlife. Or take a tour into the slough. You'll see so many sea otters and seals. It's awesome. There's also an Elkhorn slough visitors center in the hills behind the slough. Some small hikes around the slough and a small visitors center that is good for children.

The best tide-pooling. Check the tides and aim for low tide. You'll love seeing the hermit crabs, crabs, snails, anemones and sea stars. I pick up hot clam chowder at nob hill in pacific grove and have a beach picnic. So fun.
