Great casual food court in Historic Core is Downtown. if you can’t decide what you want to eat. The popular Eggslut is here but be prepared to stand in line. Other than that, there is Mexican Food, Chicken, Noodles, Filipino, and even a PB&J restaurant. After a meal rent a Birdie scooter and ride up and down Broadway in the jewelry district and fashion district. Across the street is Angels Flight, an old trolly that will take you up the hill where you can find the The Broad Museum, The Music Center and the the The Disney Concert Hall. (15 min)

Get ready for the heavy traffic if you're going to the beach. I would wait until closer to noon before going there. Instead of driving back during rush hour (around 5 pm), stay in Santa Monica and have dinner there somewhere. 3rd St Promenade which is next to Santa Monica Mall is also a nice place to walk around, watch street performers , shop and eat. The traffic coming back to LA is unbearable during rush hour. Wait until after 7 pm when the traffic is not bumper to bumper.

This theme park is the closest to our house. It's only 20 minutes away with some traffic. It's also much less expensive than Disneyland.

The oldest town in LA. A lot of kiosks with Mexican folk art, trinkets, and live music and events on the weekends. They have great food and an awesome authentic costume store which I enjoy looking at. Historic landmarks there too. Great place to visit!
